We are located at 143 S Main St. in Sugar Grove and open weekly on Thursdays from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM.

From Main Street, turn into the Sugar Grove Community Building parking lot (just across from the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church).

Our building is tucked behind the Community Building, look for us in the renovated bus barn.

For some, a food pantry is a source of emergency assistance. For many, it is a supplement to low or fixed income, loss of income due to illness or job loss, or loss of second income for single parents.

Food pantries help provide nutritious food to babies, children, seniors, veterans and any household experiencing finanical uncertainty. Our food pantry provides enough groceries for a minimum of 3 meals per day for at least 3 days for each person in the household.

A food bank is a large warehouse or distribution center that collects, stores, and distributes food to hunger-relief organizations. They receive donations from grocery stores, manufacturers, farmers, and community drives, then supply that food to local partners.

A food pantry, on the other hand, is a community-based site where neighbors can go directly to receive food. Pantries, like Between Friends Food Pantry, purchase much of their food from the food bank and then share it with families and individuals in need.

Think of it this way: the food bank is the supplier and the pantry is the hands that place the food directly into the community.

Our pantry operates with a small, dedicated team, one part-time staff member supported by an all-volunteer board of directors and helpers. We depend on the kindness of our community: volunteers who give their time, neighbors who donate food and supporters who contribute financially. Whenever possible, we also secure grants from foundations, civic groups, and government programs to help keep our shelves stocked and our services running.
